Frequently asked questions
- What size racket should my child use?
- Choose by height: under 100 cm 19 in, 100–115 cm 21 in, 115–130 cm 23 in, 130–145 cm 25 in, over 145 cm 26 in. A quick test: with the arm hanging at the side and the racket held at the end of the grip, the head should not touch the ground, with a finger or two of space left.
- Should I buy a size up so they can grow into it?
- We don't recommend it. A long, heavy racket spoils the stroke, tires the arm and makes tennis harder. One inch either way is fine, but no more.
- When does a child move to an adult racket?
- Usually at 145–150 cm and 11–12 years, once they handle a 26 in racket comfortably. A light adult racket (265–280 g) makes the switch easier.
